Automatic Cutting of Drawer Components at Burgbad

With the installation of a BLS 150 under-table saw, HECHT AG has decisively modernized the cutting process for coated components at Burgbad. The system operates completely autonomously, enabling the automatic cutting of all required parts on an order-by-order basis.

The operator initiates the cutting cycle simply by scanning the production order. All associated positions are then clearly listed. After the raw strip is loaded, the saw automatically cuts the order-specific components. Even small parts from approx. 80 mm in length are processed precisely—without any compromises in cut quality or dimensional accuracy.

Focus on Efficiency & Process Quality

Prior to this investment, Burgbad relied on a traditional circular table saw. Cutting was performed manually based on parts lists. The goal of the new solution was to significantly reduce the high expenditure of time and personnel.

A key factor in the decision-making process was the cut quality of the HECHT saw. Even with the test parts provided by the customer, the HECHT saw impressed with absolutely clean cut edges—this enables tear-free results on the exit side for coated particle boards. Crucial to this are the perfectly synchronized saw blade feed and the precise cutting speed, which guarantee repeatable, high-quality processing in pusher mode.

Equally important was the data integration into the Burgbad system. Through close cooperation between both companies, a customized interface was developed that simplifies the entire sequence, shortens throughput times, and increases process quality.

Today, the cutting process is automated—without replacing the employee. Their task now consists of starting the cut by scanning the order and placing the raw strips onto the Exenso Comfort length stop in pusher mode. The cut parts are then fitted with a barcode label, automatically identified on the outfeed side, and picked according to the layout for the fully automatic drawer assembly line.

With this investment, Burgbad has been able to significantly streamline workflows in bathroom furniture production. The combination of intelligent data usage and precise automation underscores HECHT AG’s expertise in the field of modern cutting solutions.

Quality That Sets Standards

Technical implementation is one thing; partnership-based cooperation is another. For Mr. Stocker, Project Manager at Burgbad, the summary of the cooperation is thoroughly positive. In particular, the combination of craftsmanship precision and professional project management left a lasting impression.

According to Stocker, expectations in three core areas were not just met, but hit the mark precisely:

  • Cut Quality: Maximum precision as the foundation for assembly.

  • Project Flow: Structured and on-schedule realization.

  • Partnership: Cooperation at eye level between Burgbad and HECHT AG.

Personal Conclusion

“The cut quality, the project flow, and the partnership-based implementation by and with HECHT fully met my expectations. I would make this investment again at any time.”
